Entering the Studio
To comply with capacity guidelines, we are asking that all parents drop off and pick up their students at the designated doors of the studio. The North Door (near the Nail Salon) will be for drop off. The South Door (near Edible Arrangements) will be our dismissal door. Parents, upon your arrival and dismal, please remember to practice social distancing.
Our staff will greet the dancer and their parent at the door at drop off. At that time, we will ask the parent if they want their dancer to keep their mask on in the classroom. We suggest and encourage all students to wear their masks as much as possible in the classroom but will follow your lead!
All students must wear a mask when entering and exiting the building because we are unable to maintain social distancing in the lobby and hallway. Students can not remove their mask until in the classroom and permission has been granted by their parent or guardians.
Each student will be given a bit of hand sanitizer as they enter the building and upon leaving.
All staff will be wearing masks while in the lobby.
Special Note for dancers under the age of 5: Our front desk staff will be happy to bring your dancer to the restroom should the need occur during their class time. We understand that some students and parents might not feel comfortable with that. If you would prefer to bring your child to the restroom, we ask that you remain in the parking lot and we will call you to come inside if your child requires the restroom. We kindly request that you wear a mask during your time in the studio.
For these classes only, if a parent wishes to walk their dancers into the studio and get them settled in their classroom, we will allow it due to the student’s age. All parents must wear a mask and we are kindly requesting that only one parent come into the studio and please, no siblings.
Hospital Grade Air Filter System
EDS has purchased a HyperHEPA filtration system for each studio – these units are used in hospitals.
The IQAir HealthPro Series features HyperHEPA filtration technology for superior airborne particle removal. IQ Air’s HyperHEPA filtration have been tested and certified by an independent third-party lab and has effectively filtered 99.5% of harmful ultra-fine pollution particles down to 0.003 microns in size. This is 100 times smaller than what is achieved with ordinary air filtration technology and 10 times smaller than a virus.
These systems will be run 24/7 in each studio room to help eliminate germs and viruses
Remote Viewing of Classes
We are very sensitive and know how much joy it brings parents watching their dancers in the classroom. While we look forward to the day when we can open our doors fully and welcome you back into the building, in the meantime, we have set up the WatchMeGrow software. Parents can download the app and watch their dancer(s) from any location. Each family will have limited access and will only be able to see their dancer’s class for the scheduled day, time, and studio room
Motion Activated features in the studio
EDS has installed many new features to allow for fewer items to be touched in the studio by our dancers and or staff. There are motioned activated hand sanitizer dispensers located throughout the studio. In the rest rooms, we have installed motion activated lights, soap dispensing, water, flushing, and hand drying features.
EDS has been researching this topic and reading all CDC guidelines, and have found conflicting information. Exercising with masks on further complicates the issue. We have decided to leave this decision up to the parents and we will respect your wishes. Some students will wear masks, and some will not, however, we will do our best to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
Upon arrival staff will ask the parent if they wish for their dancer to wear a mask in the classroom. Attendance sheets will be marked by identifying the parent’s preference. We encourage all students to wear their masks.
All staff will wear masks and take short breaks when needed and again keep in mind social distancing guidelines.
We are placing squares down on the floor in each studio using tape to encourage children to keep their distance and dance in their space. While we cannot promise that no dancer will get that close to another dancer, we do promise to continue to remind them to dance in their space.
If your child has been exposed to Covid-19 or is showing any signs of illness, please do not bring your dancer to class. If your dancer shows any signs of illness, we will call the parent immediately and request that you pick up your child. The child will remain in the lobby with our front desk staff until the parent arrives, and the classroom will be immediately disinfected. Our staff will remain home if they feel or show any signs of being sick as well.
All classes will be shortened by 10 minutes (except for the 45-minute Combo classes) to allow for cleaning in between classes.
Water Fountain – The water fountain will be temporarily closed but the water bottle filling station is open!
Dressing Rooms- All dressing rooms are temporarily closed since we cannot maintain social distancing guidelines in those spaces.
EDS has always had superior cleaning standards; however, we have added to our processes by cleaning in between each class, including all door handles, ballet barres, and all bathroom fixtures. We have plenty of cleaning supplies on hand, including hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes. A special thank you to one of our “dance moms” for helping us locate these highly sought-after supplies! You wont a studio cleaner that ours!
